How It’s Made:
Cascina Bongiovanni sits in northern Italy’s Langhe region, in the heart of the Barolo sub-region, and they farm using biodynamic principles. They make this blend out of their Nebbiolo for its deep earthiness, Pinot Noir to lighten things up, and Barbera for a little zip!
Why We Like It:
This red is beautifully balanced and complex. It was a hit at our recent Bongiovanni tasting, so we just felt like we had to feature it.
White Wine of the Week

What It Is:
This wine is a white wine made from Tempranillo Blanco, a naturally occurring white mutation of the Tempranillo grape, discovered in Rioja in 1980. There aren’t a bunch of this type of wine. This one is Bodegas Ontañon’s version made from organic Tempranillo Blanco.
Why We Like It:
One, it’s just fun to try a new grape. Two, it’s a white whose acid is evenly balanced with its fruit. It’s a great wine to pair with a light salad or cheese. You could also get a red Rioja Tempranillo and taste them back to back.

How It’s Made:
The Hyperfocus from Brooklyn is Grimm Artisan Ales’ single-hop IPA series. This beer is its second offering, and it features (as its name says), the Citra hop.
Why We Like It:
So, fans of the shop know how much we love a single-hop series, and if you’re going to do a single-hop IPA, then Citra is a good bet as it can give you multitudes in both aroma and flavor. Grimm teases those layers out here, giving us both Citra’s lemony side for structure and its fruity side. This beer is ready to make you fall in love with Citra either for the first time or all over again.
