Right Time, Right Wine, Right Place
Michael Abood was a lace designer who bounced back and forth between New York and Paris. During his travels in France, he discovered excellent, little-known, small production wineries. Just after the turn of the Millennium, there was not much attention on organic and natural wines, and those that were available were expensive. Thus came the idea … create a company that specialized in importing small farmer, organic, biodynamic, and natural wines at an affordable price point. Abood left the lace in 2006 and, two years later, launched Vinotas Selections … right when the stock market crashed.
Turns out that being an importer specializing in quality, affordable wines fit with the post financial disaster economic landscape. Today, Vinotas has more than 100 wines in their portfolio at a range of price points, but Abood still sticks to his core philosophy of supporting small, sustainable producers, who don’t throw a load of chemicals in their wines.
So, please join us for a special Wine Wednesday, when Michael Abood, himself, will be here to pour some of the wines from his selection. Even with this special guest, the tasting is still a free walk-up tasting. Please join us any time in the hour and a half.
