Rosé Wine of the Week

Domain Dozon
Le Petit Chemin
Chinon Rosé

Normally $26.99 /
Now on Sale for $21.96
100% Cabernet Franc (Chinon AOC)

How It’s Made:

More than 70% of the vines in the hilltop, sustainably managed vineyard that produces the grapes for this Loire Valley rosé are at least 35 years old. This rosé is a direct press rosé with a variable amount of bled off juice depending on the vintage.

Why We Like It:

If you like a dry rosé, the Dozon is your special friend. It’s got a light bracing quality that’s almost citrus-like that blends into the acid on the finish. It’s a great “beginning of brunch” rosé. We only get this wine once a year. So take note; when it’s gone, it’s gone.

Red Wine of the Week

Anne Collard
Rock, Paper, Scissors

Normally $18.99 /
Now on Sale for $16.96

90% Grenache, 8% Syrah, 2% Mourvèdre (Vin de France)

How It’s Made:

With her husband Francois, Anne Collard runs our favorite Costières de Nîmes winery, Château Mourgues du Grès. However, she always wanted to have vines in the Côtes du Rhône as well. In 2019, she made that wish happen. They make this light-bodied red at Mourgues du Grès from biodynamically grown Rhône grapes, which they macerate for just around a week. They ferment in concrete with indigenous yeasts before aging the wine for 10 months on lees in a combination of concrete and stainless steel. They bottle the final wine after adding a minimal amount of sulfur.

Why We Like It:

We’re bewitched by the caramel-like fruit cradled in supportive acid. On top of that pleasure, this red is flavorful with a level of crisp freshness that you associate with a rosé. Astonishing. Put a little chill on it and sit back and push away the summer.

Beer of the Week

Redbeard
Best Coast IPA

Normally $15.99 /
Now on Sale for $14.96 (16.9 oz can four-pack)
Hazy IPA (6.5% ABV)

How It’s Made:

Redbeard starts this IPA with Pale, Aromatic, and Wheat malts. They then hop and dry-hop this sucker with Columbus, Cascade, and Chinook hops.

Why We Like It:

Finally we have some beers from Redbeard in Staunton, and we are so pleased! This IPA is a beautiful play of malt and hops. It’s like riding on a slightly hazy underground river of Mandarin Orange flavor with stalagmites of spicy hops peaking out of the surface of the water.
