Double Hazy IPA

For this beer, Herndon’s Aslin Beer Company doubles down on the number “2.”

First … and second of all, it’s a double dry-hopped, double IPA. On top of that pairing, Aslin uses two hops working in contrast with each other — Citra and Nelson Sauvin. Here’s what they say …

“The combination of these two hops creates a huge pillowy mouthfeel. The Citra lends the flavors of brite orange and orange peel, while the Nelson smells of dank wine grapes.” (Aslin Beer Company)

They’re dead on. Though this DIPA is juicy, we shy away from calling it an NEIPA because that slightly sweet juice is immediately cut by a biting dankness. It’s kind of a double take to have both hop profiles so present in combination … but kind of fun.

You’ll want to quaff this beer, but don’t. It seems like you should be able to, but we suggest that you take two seconds and sip it. Get it really, really cold to enjoy the full bracing bite of the whole thing.
