Silver Branch Brewing Company

Christian Layke (now the Head of Brewing Operations) and Brett Robison (now the COO) founded Silver Branch Brewing Company in Silver Spring, MD. Both of them had been homebrewers who dreamed about starting their own brewery one day. As they worked in different brewpubs, Layke went in for the actual beer making, while Robison found himself moving over to the management side of things.

They were introduced to each other through a mutual friend at Denizens Brewing Company and clicked over the beer they liked and the beer they wanted to make. In 2018, after some years of planning and dealing and prepping, they opened the doors on their dream.

Silver Branch says that they are dedicated to both European and American Brewing traditions, but it seems that they have a soft spot for German beers. (Their tagline is “Experience Gemütlichkeit.”) This week, we will taste a trio of their beers. Please feel free to join us any time between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM.
