English Style Pale Ale

Some months ago, we were excited about Perennial’s ESB, a collaboration with fellow St. Louis craft brewery Civil Life. Now, here we are excited about another English style beer from Perennial. There must be something in the St. Louis water.

The Reverse Faults is Perennial’s English Style Pale Ale, and it’s just as solid as their ESB. Its bready malt has appealing tinges of honey, and those English East Kent Goldings hops support the whole thing in the background, demurely resisting the temptation to muscle forward and take over the finish. Also, here’s the thing, though it’s squarely in the English style, we say it’s better cold than at room temperature.

The only way that the Reverse Faults fails as an English Pale Ale is that it’s too tasty. Rather than throw back a couple of pints of it, we’d rather take our time and sip it.
